the latest, and more to come. . . ?

So I'm trying to put my content in order for a new website/blog etc, and have been neglecting the momo dance.  Boy has a lot happened!  What a great holiday season with Doss and Lola's birthdays, and lots of wonderful family time!  We are ready for spring and all the new life and newness in general that it can and should bring on so many fronts for our family.  We have a beautiful new niece, Blythe Anderson Magill (pictures to come!), an Odom nephew (we think!) on the way this fall, Ben has a new job that he is loving and I am, as ever, exploring options, searching for balance and way to express myself personally and professionally. . . ahhh we'll see.  In the meantime, here are a few pics cover a few months.

Ben, Doss and me enjoying a work booth at the NBA All-star Jam Session - what skills!
Dinks and Doss right after the holidays - the after Christmas glow still with them both!
Doss enjoying presents and paper at Christmas.
Lola and me with our fabulous felt hair ties - we love wild hair!

re-branding

blankets on the streets of baird

felt flairs for everything around christmas0 09

ok, so yes i work in branding and publicity by day.  the large retailer for which I work, allows me to affect brand strategy that directly faces the consumer everyday -- thus my creative juices have been flowing again for momoFandango. . . I had a year of being way in over my head juggling motherhood and a demanding day job, that really forced me to put this endeavor on the back burner.  But over Christmas I was energized and producing some small but fun things for Doss's birthday and Christmas that got my mind back into momo and momo strategy.

above photos are new and old work that will eventually all fall under momoFandango -- felt was my muse over the holidays, but it goes back to one of the first nurseries I designed for my friend Meredith's daughter Mia -  back then I cut out a butterfly and stitched it onto Mia's silk baby blanket -- it was super cute.  not super practical for everyday application, but more of a keepsake.

with my juices flowing, I started thinking back two years ago when amazing local Dallas design firm, MoHouse Design, started the logo and packaging  project for momoFandango, and they did an terrific job. . . I got pregnant and stumped the project, but am resurrecting, hopefully they still have the files and the will to deal with me again! we'll see. . .

as I work to develop a cohesive brand, i hope to launch a new blog about my brand and other local brands that are doing it well. . . lots to do!  wish me luck!

Watching "The People Speak"

Howard Zinn is amazing and The People Speak on the History Channel is changing me and my wants, hopes and dreams on the spot, right now, as I listen and watch. . . the real stories of the people as they lived their lives and lived through the true successes and failures of this country. . . amazing.

I love to dance.

This is me cheesing to Amy while dancing with Ben. . . we had been to ACL and it rained, and we all got drenched, but didn't care. . . with the music and rain and the dancing.

It felt like we hadn't done this since our wedding. . .
So happy!

it's been awhile. . .

Boy, has it been awhile since I've blogged!  I've missed it. . . I just came off of stint of travel that took me all over the country, allowed me to meet all sorts of people, celebrities, singers, execs, fashion designers etc.  It sounds thrilling. . . at times, I admit, it is. . . but it is grueling, and stressful, and crazy.  And I miss my baby and my husband when I'm gone.  But with my last trip to NYC for an event with Nintendo supporting their new game, and partnering with Charlotte Ronson (very cool), I'm home for a bit!  Yea!  Now I'm able to breath a bit, and realize that, eh-hem, "baby" Doss is about to turn 1!!!!  Dec 14th, that sweet little boy will be 1.  He is so wonderful, so full of life and laughter and curiosity.  I'm so proud of him. . . I just wish I didn't feel like I have missed so much!  Perhaps all parents feel that way, no matter the circumstance. Doss is so close to walking.  He is very fast on the ground, pulling up on anything stationary, loving his bath and water, belly laughing, and is obsessed with buttons!!!

Before it got so crazy and obsessed, one of my goals was to get photos of his really cute room posted.  I'm still working on it.  I'm determined to do that.  But in the meantime, here are some of the latest of the little smooch face.  He is a dear.  He lovesssssss  his Daddy, too, which is so fun to see.  And by the way, Ben was a real trooper during the summer/fall when things were so crazy with my travel.  I can't believe what an amazing father he is and how much support he has offered us.   Very lucky. . .

Goals to stay connected and keep putting this life, love, design, and parenthood adventure out there is going to happen!
